People with a disability will be heavily involved in Holy Week events through their centres in various localities, the Foundation for Social Welfare Services said. These events are also open for the public to see for themselves how people with disability are able to participate in community activities.

The day centre at Fleur-de-Lys will be holding a Way of the Cross, starting at 6.30pm tomorrow at the centre. This will include a Last Supper Holy Mass and a live Via Sagra, where people with disability attending the centres will be animating.

The centre situated in Hal-Far, on the other hand, will be holding a pageant entitled Jien Irbaht id-Dinja tomorrow at 6.30pm. This will take place at the theatre of St Vincent de Paul Residence for the elderly in Luqa. The public, especially relatives of residents at St Vincent de Paul, are encouraged to attend.

The Mtarfa centre will also be organising a pageant, L-Imsallab Fi Triqatna, tomorrow at 7.30pm. This is being held in conjunction with Mtarfa local council and the local Ghaqda Dilettanti Gimgha Kbira.

Apart from this, the Mtarfa centre will be organising an exhibition of the Last Supper, which is being held for the fourth consecutive year. It is open at the Santa Lucija chapel at Mtarfa during the evening until Thursday and on Good Friday morning.

Day Centres for Persons with Disability aim to help people with a disability continue developing their potential through different types of activities while at the same time supporting their families so that these people can continue living within the community without being socially isolated, thus empowering them to live independently.
