The Beach Cleaning section of the Tourism and Culture Ministry has recently installed more than 60 ladders and sets of railings on the beaches in Sliema to ensure that the beaches remain accessible.
The section has installed a total of more than 200 ladders along the Maltese coast. Last year, it made and installed 160 ladders and 1,500 rubbish bins.
Up to September last year, nearly 20,000 tonnes of rubbish and dried seaweed had been removed from beaches.
