The Bla Agenda show on One TV next Saturday will be a special programme dedicated wholly entirely to Dun Gorg Preca, who is to be canonised in June.

It will attempt to get to know the beatified MUSEUM founder better, through archive footage shot secretly years ago, unbeknown to Dun Gorg himself, and interviews with people who knew him and others who have been working on his beatification cause since 1976.

The show, being aired on Easter Eve, will be hosted by Norman Hamilton, who will be welcoming in the Bla Agenda studio the Jurisdictional Vicar, Mgr Arthur Said Pullicino, and the Postulator in the cause for the Beatification and Canonisation of Dun Gorg Preca, Mgr Charles J. Scicluna. Mgr Charles Cordina will also be present as President of the Commission set up by the Church for the organisation of activities in relation to the canonisation.

Two other guests come from the MUSEUM society – John Formosa, who used to write down Dun Gorg’s teachings as dictated by the priest himself, and Natalino Camilleri, who carried out an intensive study of those writings. Police Inspector John Ellul, Head of the Forensic Department of the Police Corps, will be giving a scientific perspective to the whole case, having been the person in charge of the exhumation process held on 7 July 2000.

Another highlight of the programme will be two exclusive interviews, one of which features Archbishop Paul Cremona OP as he discusses the value of this canonisation for the Maltese Catholic Church. The second interview presents Dr Lawrence Spiteri, Dun Gorg’s personal doctor who, with foresight, had anticipated the priest’s saintliness and had preserved a phial of his blood. Today, this is the only relic available of Dun Gorg.
