HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt Increases operating profit

HSBC’s German subsidiary Trinkaus & Burkhardt has announced that its operating profit for 2006 increased by 34 per cent to e182.5 million – the highest in the bank’s history. Return on equity before tax was 28 per cent and strong growth was recorded across all activities.

“Trinkaus & Burkhardt is a first-class German banking operation,” said HSBC Bank Malta chief executive officer Shaun Wallis. “Its strong performance also reflects the broad range of products and services on offer to the bank’s clients. As the world’s local bank, HSBC aims to help private and corporate customers in Malta with banking services in Germany, where appropriate.”

Trinkhaus & Burkhardt has 12 main offices across Germany, and employs some 1,600 staff.
