Following the launch of HSDPA some months ago, Vodafone Malta has now upgraded its 3G coverage to HSDPA (3.5G) to give customers four times the connection speeds of 3G.
3G & HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) services were initially available in St. Julians, Sliema, Gzira, Ta’ Xbiex, Msida, Hamrun, Marsa, Floriana, Valletta. As from now, the services are also available in Attard, Balzan, Gharghur, Luqa, Mosta, Naxxar, Pieta, San Gwann & San Pawl il-Bahar.
Vodafone customers can now benefit from faster download speeds and improved quality of sound and images made possible through its enhanced 3.5G services. Among other features, customers can download full songs and large email attachments in seconds. HSDPA services can be accessed from one’s mobile phone, PDA or laptop equipped with Vodafone Mobile Connect Card.
HSDPA delivers a faster mobile broadband experience to Vodafone customers with mobile transfer of data from the internet and intranet at high speeds and greater capacity meaning that more people in the same location at the same time can benefit from a superior experience. It unlocks four times more capacity from the network to minimise the chances of data congestion. In addition, HSDPA offers improved access to web-based content, so Vodafone customers are able to work faster and download larger documents, such as PowerPoint presentations and email attachments, more quickly.
