The Centenary Theatre at Chiswick House School, Kappara was the venue selected by the American School in London (ASL) to hold their evening musical performance during a stay in Malta. The 90 minute performance, fusing together orchestra, choir, jazz and band music, was organised by Chiswick House School together with its Parents’ Circle.
The ASL is a coeducational, independent school of more than 1,300 students from 50 countries. The oldest American school in one of the world’s most international cities, the ASL prides itself on developing a strong school culture that emphasises the intellectual and moral growth of its students. These same values, combined with a commitment to excellence and an appreciation for diversity, are at the base of the curriculum developed at Chiswick House School and St Martin’s College.
At the end of the performance, Joe Balzan, headmaster of the Junior School at Chiswick House School, presented Peter Lusotski, head of performing arts at the ASL, with an artistic creation by Corinne S. Micallef Grimaud, who earlier this year won a prize for originality in a competition organised by the University of Malta and the International Ocean Institute.
