Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela said that the number of individuals diagnosed with skin cancer from January 2025 to 15 June 2025 was 819.

Abela was replying to a parliamentary question made by PN MP Ivan Bartolo, who asked the Minister to divulge how many persons were diagnosed with skin cancer from January of this year to the date the question is answered.

Abela was also asked to say if there was an increase of diagnoses compared to the same period in 2024.

He said that from January to 15 June 2025, 819 individuals were diagnosed with skin cancer.

The Minister said that during the same period in 2024, the number of those diagnosed with skin cancer was 576.

He said that the reports for both years are still being submitted and are also undergoing verification/validation.
