Communications and Competitiveness Minister Censu Galea filed a libel suit against Labour Leader Alfred Sant yesterday in view of the fact that he felt libelled by what had been said at a political activity just over a week ago.

Minister Galea said he felt libelled by what Dr Sant had said during a political discussion meeting in Mellieha on 13 May.

He said Dr Sant’s allegations were defamatory and aimed at damaging his reputation. He called on the court to declare that the allegations were libellous and award him damages accordingly.

Dr Joe Zammit Maempel signed the writ.
