The Court of Magistrates yesterday ordered that a man be treated for a mental condition by which he defiles minor children when he exposes himself in front of them.

The 53-year-old man from Qormi pleaded guilty to defiling an underage girl when he exposed himself in front of her on 15 August 2005 in Marsascala and Sliema. He also pleaded guilty to relapsing.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani jailed the man for one year suspended for three years and placed him on a supervision order for three years.

The magistrate also ordered that he be treated at Mount Carmel Hospital for his mental condition of exposing himself in front of minors.

Police Inspectors Anthony Cassar and Antonovich Muscat prosecuted.
