The owners of three establishments in Marsascala were each fined Lm500 after being found guilty of allowing an excessive number of tables and chairs to be placed on the pavement outside their premises.

The men are: Simon Pulis, the owner of Café Ximo, Geronimo Esposito, the owner of Sottovoce and Christopher Mifsud, the owner of Chick King Takeaway.

Appearing before magistrate Saviour Demicoli, the men were found guilty of the charge and were each fined Lm500.

Police Inspector Anthony Cassar prosecuted.
