Former Marillion Frontman to get over wedding heartache by holidaying in Malta with friends

Reports are emerging that former Marillion frontman Fish has said he’s “gutted” after being jilted by his wife-to-be Heather Findlay and will try to cushion the hurt by holidaying in Malta with friends in August.

According to the Daily Record, more than 250 wedding invitations had been sent out as they had planned to tie the knot this summer.

But last Saturday, following a huge row, Heather, 29, who is a singer with the group Mostly Autumn, told Fish the wedding was off.

He said: “I’m gutted. I’m just angry. I’m not registering any heartache at the moment. I’m just really angry. There won’t be a reconciliation. When somebody does that to you, that’s somebody you don’t want to be married to.”

The 49-year-old had to tell friends and family the wedding was off two days after invitations were sent out and 10 weeks before the event.

But despite being left with a red face, he’s going to have a party on the day he was due to get married in early August and instead of a honeymoon he will go to Malta with friends.

Fish, whose real name is Derek Dick, added: “Instead of being morose, I’m trying to be positive.

“I’ve got a new lawn, a new kilt and my daughter has a new ring, as I’ve given her the engagement ring I’d given Heather.”

Fish went through a divorce six years ago after his first marriage to Tamara Nowy broke down. As the wedding drew closer, he wanted Heather to sign a pre-nuptial agreement which was the focus of her argument last weekend.
