A three-year-old boy was grievously injured yesterday afternoon, at around 5pm, following a traffic accident on Birbal Street, Balzan.

According to preliminary police investigations, the child was struck by a Mercedes Benz GLA 250 E driven by a 37-year-old resident of Mġarr.

A medical team administered first aid at the scene before an ambulance transported the boy to Mater Dei Hospital, where medical professionals certified his injuries as serious.

Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
