A man was yesterday charged with seriously injuring another man during a fight that broke out at a Paceville nightclub early on Sunday morning.

Adrian Agius, 25, from San Gwann, was charged with seriously injuring Charlton Micallef from Senglea who suffered a broken nose and probably even a fractured cheekbone. He was also charged with breaching the peace.

Before magistrate Lawrence Quintano, the man pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.

Police Inspector Martin Sammut prosecuted while Dr Ian Farrugia appeared for the accused.
