Two youngsters were charged yesterday with seriously injuring a man in a club in Paceville on Saturday night.

Marvin Zammit, 20, from Msida and a 17-year-old from Santa Venera, whose name is not being published since he is still a minor, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Marvin John Mallia and breaching the peace at Axis Discotheque in Paceville.

Both were further charged with breaching bail conditions, while the teenager alone was charged with being in possession of a sharp or pointed object without a licence.

They were granted bail against a deposit of Lm500 each and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 each.

Police inspectors Martin Sammut and Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted. Dr Jason Azzopardi appeared for Mr Zammit, while Dr Mark Attard Montalto appeared for the teenager.
