The winning BOV merchant customers in BOV’s latest card promotion were Miller Distributors Limited and Mario Dispensing Opticians. The merchants were selected among those who processed card payments through Bank of Valletta’s electronic point of sale terminals at their retail outlet in Gozo, during the Lejlet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana events. The merchants won a travel package to a destination of their choice.

The promotion also rewarded 33 BOV cardholders who, while in Gozo for the Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana event, paid for their purchases with a BOV card. Each of the winners was reimbursed with the amount of the winning transaction up to a maximum of Lm50.

The prizes to the merchants were presented by John Pollacco, Head, BOV Card Services. Congratulating the winners, Mr Pollacco highlighted how BOV cards are becoming an increasingly-popular method of payment. “The popularity of paying with BOV cards was even more in evidence during the Notte Gozitana weekend when we registered twice the card payment business when compared to a typical weekend in May,” said John Pollacco. “Bank of Valletta is regularly seeking to add value to customers who pay with cards and to merchants who accept BOV cards,” he added. He said that merchants stand to benefit by accepting BOV cards through immediate authorisation of each transaction, a reduction in cash handling and constant support from BOV’s Card Centre.
