The Government Employees Section within the Unjoni Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) yesterday signed a sectoral agreement for workers who are employed as secretaries in government schools.

The agreement was signed after it was explained to and approved by the employees involved during a meeting held at the UHM.

As a result, workers will benefit from a number of conditions, such as taking advantage of all the increments allotted to a scale 14 salary.

The section expressed its satisfaction at the negotiated agreement. Even though the negotiations took time and needed the interventions of the Principal Permanent Secretary Godwin Grima and Anthony Vella from the Office of the Prime Minister, these were concluded without any form of industrial dispute.
