The AX Group has recently launched an intensive recruitment exercise taking on new staff to complement the joint responsibility of Victoria and The Palace hotel administration. The selected staff will supplement the new administrative set-up which will be catering for the Victoria and The Palace network.
In this context Romina Aquilina has been appointed Assistant Financial Controller of The Palace and the Victoria Hotel while Monica Elizabeth Grima has been appointed Head Housekeeper with responsibilities also over The Palace and The Victoria Hotel. Romina Pace, with a successful career and 14 years experience in the hospitality industry, has been appointed Human Resources Manager at The Palace.
Jason Degiorgio is the new Operations Manager within this new 5 Star hotel forming part of the AX Group. In his new post Jason is also assisting The Palace’s General Manager, Claire Xuereb in the day-to-day operations leading to the opening of the 5 star hotel. Jason is a graduate from I.T.S. and has over 12 years experience in the local tourism industry. Throughout his career Jason has also worked and trained in Scotland at the St Andrews Old Course Hotel.
Claire Xuereb, The Victoria and The Palace General Manager, said that this new influx of staff bring with them a necessary wealth of experience and knowledge. She said, “The Palace Hotel will be opening soon and will be employing over 150 in full and part-timers. In the Victoria’s well-established tradition, we are committed towards the ultimate quality service at both hotels. This would not be possible to achieve without the dedication of our qualified staff”.
Ms Xuereb added that “similar to the Victoria Hotel, The Palace’s strong points and its biggest assets are expected to be service, location, character and charm. The name of The Palace reflects luxury and we want to exceed the very idea of luxury in all aspects. Our guest profile includes individuals who travel for business and culture therefore our service standards have to be second to none.”
The Palace will be opening its doors to guests towards the end of June. The hotel will have a 5 star category, with 161 rooms spread over 9 floors. The total investment being made by AX Holdings in completing this hotel is in excess of Lm9 million. The Palace is a modern urban hotel, it will have a classical touch which will give the décor a dramatic effect.
