Court: Two Accused of robbing an apartment

Two men were yesterday accused of breaking into an apartment in Msida and stealing several items.

Clive Agius, 22, and Rittmar Hatherly, 19, both from Floriana, pleaded not guilty to breaking into an apartment in Victor Denaro Street in Msida to the detriment of Glenn Busuttil. They were also accused of damaging the apartment’s front door and attempting to steal more items from the same flat.

The two were also accused of attempting to rob Golden Harvest confectionery in St Thomas Street, Floriana.

Mr Agius alone was accused of possessing an unlicensed penknife and relapsing. Mr Hatherly alone was also accused of relapsing.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano granted the men bail against a deposit of Lm200 each and a personal guarantee of Lm1,000 each and ordered them to be indoors between 8pm and 8am the following morning.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted while Dr Joseph Giglio appeared for the accused.
