The forthcoming Joseph Calleja Anniversary Concert, being held in Mdina on 7 July, will be a celebration of established classical operatic arias. This was confirmed by Renaissance Productions Ltd. directors Dr Anton Tabone and Amabile Zammit, who have just returned from a trip to Sofia where discussions on the finalisation of the programme were made with the Sofia National Opera Orchestra.

The programme will consist of some of the best-loved arias by composers such as Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, and Cilea.

Dr Anton Tabone and Amabile Zammit said: “We have had a tremendous response to the concert. The combined chemistry of the internationally-acclaimed Joseph Calleja, Brian Schembri and Tatiana Lisnic and the Sofia National Opera Orchestra is an exciting prospect for opera-lovers in general and Maltese connoisseurs in particular.”

Tatiana Lisnic, Joseph’s wife and a well-known operatic voice herself, will be accompanying him under the master baton of the world-established conductor Brian Schembri.
