This year, school libraries will benefit from a new scheme launched by Agenda – ‘Agenda Books for Schools’. The main aim of the initiative is that through an innovative exchange system of vouchers, school libraries can update their selection of books from a range of interesting titles.
All clients purchasing textbooks from Agenda Bookshop between 1 July and 31 October will be given a ‘Books for Schools’ 50-cent voucher for every Lm10 spent. The vouchers are then to be handed to the school upon commencement of the new academic year and can be used by the library in exchange for new books from a varied selection, including fiction, non-fiction, classic and other general interest titles.
“At Agenda we promote and encourage reading as a way of opening the individual’s boundaries of learning and understanding, particularly among young people,” said Rachelle Tabone, marketing executive for Agenda Bookshop.
“We also acknowledge that books need not only be accessible but also that children and young people become increasingly interested in knowledge when presented with fresh reading material. For this reason, we thought of rewarding their investment in textbooks by giving their school libraries a boost with a new stock of titles to arouse their passion for books.”
