Actavis Ltd, located in Bulebel will be participating in the Foresta 2000 appeal as part of its corporate social responsibility programme and its commitment towards the local community and environment.
Sergio Vella, Managing Director of Actavis Ltd, presented a donation of Lm1,000 to the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment George Pullicino during an event in Mellieha earlier this month. Italian Environment Minister Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio was also present at the event. Actavis staff will be participating in a tree-planting session in October, and will join a large-scale joint effort to plant 6,000 trees. The trees will replace the 3,000 trees vandalised on the night of 8 May.
“Among Actavis’ most valuable assets is the trust and confidence of the local communities and environments in which the company operates. Actavis employees also show a high level of commitment towards our corporate social responsibility programmes and will be participating in the tree-planting event in October,” Mr Vella said.
Actavis Ltd is a subsidiary of the Actavis Group, a multinational pharmaceutical organisation employing 10,000 people in 32 countries world-wide. The Maltese operation alone boasts a workforce of no less than 400 highly-skilled employees.
