Ruth Bianco Exhibits in France

Malta Independent Sunday, 1 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Ruth Bianco’s work titled Sealand, a double video installation, will be running through the summer at Faux Mouvement Centre d’Art Contemporain in Metz, France. Sealand addresses issues of land, sea and migration in a conceptual projection piece interrogating the politics and geography of the “line” between land and sea.

Ruth’s participation forms part of Virtual Residency, the manifestation of an international project whose concept explores the “virtual migration of people” wherein artists from around the world were asked to translate their ideas and installations from the virtual platform of the net into the real physical spaces of a number of exhibitions in Europe.

Other recent projects by Ruth Bianco include Zoni in the exhibition Asylum Seekers at the Refugee Centre in Albertown and Soho in the exhibition The Philosophical Brothel at St James Cavalier, Valletta.
