There are four places left for the trip to Taize’, France organised by the University Chaplaincy from 5 to 12 August. The costs of the trip, about Lm250, make it very accessible to students.

Taize’ is a small village in France where an ecumenical community of brothers, founded by Frére Roger, welcomes young people from all over the world. It welcomes them for an unusual experience that takes them on a search for meaning in life.

Young people are invited to take time to stop, ask questions and share them with other young people. They draw on sources such as the Bible, writings by Frére Roger and by taking part in workshops on various current themes such as politics, poetry and art. The place also offers a hands-on experience to those young people who are not drawn to reflection by involving them in the running of the place: cooking, gardening and other tasks. They will be invited to join the community in the unmistakable prayers of Taize’ marked by chants such as ‘Ubi Caritas’ which are typical of the place.
