A group of 15 Cypriot travel agents have been in Malta on a familiarisation visit to promote the Maltese islands in Cyprus.

Their visit was organised by Emirates airline and supported by InterContinental Malta and SIT.

The travel agents were shown around Valletta, Mdina, the neolithic temples and Gozo, and also took a harbour cruise.

Emirates Manager for Malta and Cyprus Paul Fleri Soler said: “The aim of the familiarisation visit was to showcase Malta in terms of history, culture, night life and life style. Since Emirates started operating flights to Dubai via Larnaca in October 2005, we have invited several groups from leading Cypriot travel agencies. Through these initiatives we are already experiencing an increase in the number of tourists from Cyprus.”
