So far this year, the police have received 19 claims regarding abuses on 24 children: 19 girls and five boys, Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told Labour MP Helena Dalli.
A total of 22 persons have been arraigned as a result of these claims. Two of these cases have been decided by the courts and the two accused have been handed down a prison sentence.
