Family and Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina and her Head of Secretariat Brian Magro yesterday filed a libel suit against Labour Leader Alfred Sant over an article he penned which appeared in General Workers’ Union weekly newspaper It-Torca last Sunday.

In their suit, Minister Cristina and Mr Magro said they felt libelled with the contents of the article entitled Hosba ta’ Tixhim (A disease of bribery). They said the contents contained defamatory allegations about them, which were aimed at tarnishing their reputation.

They called on the court to liquidate the damages they sustained.
