Bank of Valletta has renewed its support for the Transplant Support Group for the seventh consecutive year. The bank’s sponsorship was presented to the group by Bank of Valletta head of marketing and communication Michael Galea.
“We are delighted to help the Transplant Support Group and we hope that our sponsorship acts as a source of encouragement to the sterling service they provide by supporting transplantees and the families of deceased organ donors”, said Mr Galea. “The TSG is performing a very valid social role within our society and our support for this group underlines the importance that BOV gives to corporate social responsibility, with the social pillar constituting a very important dimension of the Bank’s Community Programme,” he added.
“The Transplant Support group aims to bring together all transplantees, whether they are local residents or living abroad, along with those who are still waiting to have an organ transplanted. It also embraces the families of deceased organ donors,” said Mr Transport Support Group president Alfred Debattista, while thanking Bank of Valletta for renewing it sponsorship for another year.
“To date, there are over 40,000 registered organ donors. The group is continuing to work relentlessly to raise this figure by participating in various health-related activities and TV and radio programmes,” Mr Debattista continued. “We take this opportunity to encourage people to register as organ donors. Registering can mean saving a life,” he
concluded.
