Agenda Bookshop recently presented a donation to Ghabex, the emergency shelter for women victims of domestic violence and their children, run by Agenzija Appogg. This donation will serve to enhance the physical environment for the women and children residing at this shelter.
Agenda Bookshop partnered with Agenzija Appogg on the occasion of Mother’s Day. During the week prior to this occasion, Lm1 was donated to Appogg from each Lm10 spent on books at any Agenda outlet. Rachelle Tabone, Marketing manager for Agenda Bookshop, presented this donation, together with a number of books to Joe Gerada, CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, of which Agenzija Appogg forms part.
“While the money will go to the mothers, we are sure that this money will be spent on the children.” Mr Gerada made reference to the fact that there are children in Malta who live in poverty and Appogg social workers are all the time seeking funds to address, often basic needs. He appealed to schoolchildren to organise events over the summer period to support other children in need through Appogg’s Children’s Fund.
