A 16-year-old Spanish student was airlifted from the Blue Lagoon in Comino yesterday afternoon.
The Spanish girl, Erica San Guerito, sustained a spinal injury, caused, according to the police, during a jump early in the afternoon.
An Air Wing AFM Alouette rescue-helicopter was immediately scrambled to take Ms Guerito (who is at present studying in Malta) to St Luke’s Hospital where she was admitted for prioritised medical treatment.
