The families of the five victims of the St Helen fireworks factory blasts that took place on 27 June, have thanked all those involved in the search and rescue operation following the accident and all those involved in the organisation of the funeral, which was held on Saturday.

In a statement issued to all local media organisations yesterday, the families also expressed their gratitude to St Helen’s Basilica Chapter and all the groups that offered their financial support during such a difficult time.

They expressed their appreciation for the solidarity they were shown and for the fitting farewell to the five “patriots”.
