Visions, the team from De La Salle College that secured the Young Enterprise Company of the Year 2007’ award are soon off to Berlin to represent Malta in the European Company of the Year award. They won this year’s title during an awards night held at the Hilton Malta when they had their final opportunity to present their achievements and business experience garnered throughout the year.

Visions won this year’s event with their innovative product – the K9 Cleaning Kit that makes it easy for dog owners to clean up after their dog. The K9 Cleaning Kit is a pouch that is attached firmly to the leash with velcro and buttons. The pouch holds wet wipes, biodegradable scoopers and a pocket for personal possessions such as house keys and loose change.

The Niche, from Giovanni Curmi Higher, was first runner up, while DecorActive from the Junior College came third.

Air Malta chairman Lawrence Zammit, who attended the final night, said: “Air Malta is proud to be associated with Young Enterprise Malta. Every year through Young Enterprise, hundreds of students are introduced to the business world. They experience first hand entrepreneurship, the ups and downs of running an organisation, teamwork and competition in the marketplace. Air Malta believes that these are vital skills for young people that help prepare them for the future. Our assistance forms part of our ‘Committed to the Community’ initiative that aims to support and encourage local organisations and activities in various sectors, be they cultural, social, philanthropic environmental, heritage or sport, that help the Maltese community in some way or another.”
