Nesquik Plus and Playmobil Fun Park are joining forces to bring children a unique wellness programme for the summer season. The “Summer Wellness Sessions” is a new set of free educational activities for children and will be hosted at Playmobil Fun Park in Hal Far. Starting on Monday, 30 July, the Summer Wellness Sessions will be held twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first session will run from 10.15am to 10.45am and the second will start at 11am and finish at 11.30am. These sessions will be conducted by Nestlé Malta’s consultant nutritionist and consultant psychologist.
On arrival at the Playmobil Fun Park, the children will be given a set of animated educational handouts for them to follow during the session and take home. The first 15 minutes will be nutritionally based, where Nestlé Malta’s consultant nutritionist will be playing an educational game about nutrition with the children to explain the different food groups, as well as the concept of portion size. The second 15 minutes will be handled by Nestlé’s consultant psychologist. During her session, she will be exploring the children’s attitude towards exercise with the aim of teaching children about the benefits of physical activity, helping them understand their personal barriers to exercise and motivating them to get out of the home and do outdoor activities. The beloved Quicky mascot will also be demonstrating different exercise ideas for the children to copy.
The participating children will also be given a Quicky comic story, the aim of which is to motivate children to do more outdoor activities and sport, to be creative and also to find time to read and study instead of spending a lot of time watching TV or on the pc.
“This is an interesting opportunity that Nestlé Malta and Playmobil Fun Park are offering to kids visiting Playmobil Fun Park” said a spokesman for Nestlé Malta. “Through this initiative we wanted to provide an opportunity for children to learn how to improve their eating habits and, ultimately, how to lead a healthier lifestyle through adequate exercise, sport and outdoor activities.”
“Nestlé Malta has long been taking an active role in providing the educational means by which children, parents and educators can learn more about the importance of a healthier lifestyle. The Summer Wellness Sessions forms part of Nestlé’s continuous efforts to promote healthy eating lifestyles among children and adults alike and is being supported through the promotion of Nestlé’s Nesquik products,” added Nestlé Malta’s spokesman.
At the end of each session, all the children will be given a goodie bag, including a snack kindly provided by Playmobil Fun Park and Nesquik Plus.
A spokesman for Playmobil Fun Park said: “This is another effort by Playmobil to remain in the forefront and to spearhead campaigns in the interest of children’s wellbeing. Hosting these Wellness sessions at the Fun Park is a concrete step towards our Eat well, Play well, Stay well initiative, which we will be kicking off shortly through the launch of our new healthier options menu being introduced at the FunPark later this summer.’
