D&B Apologise to Media Consulta

Malta Independent Sunday, 29 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Media Consulta International, which was appointed as a consultant by the Malta Tourism Authority for the next three years, has received an official letter of apology from Dun & Bradstreet’s German affiliate.

The letter highlights the fact that the MC figures in the D&B report were actually based on industry averages; a usual D&B practice in cases where companies have not provided them with private data.

Desiree Glesen from D&B Deutschland (Hoppenstedt Holding GmbH) told Media Consulta’s Harald Zulauf the D&B company report cited in the article in The Malta Independent on Sunday of 8 July was apparently not up to date, because this report contained no confirmed, specific company financial data.

Therefore, the writer of the article had access to a company report for MC that was simply based on industry-wide averages. In addition to this, the company description failed to mention the additional offices and network associate agencies. These data have meanwhile been updated with the correct information.

Ms Glesen added that the company’s contractual terms do not allow D&B company reports to be distributed to third parties.
