Between 21-28 July, a token contingent of Maltese athletes took part in the 2007 edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival. This sport festival was held in Belgrade and the Malta contingent was led by MOC President Mr Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco and Mr Envic Galea as chef de mission.

MOC General Secretary Mr Joseph Cassar in was an official of the international committee within EYOF and also formed part of Team Malta which was formed of judokas Aaron Bezzina and Alex Attard who took part in the 60kg and 66kg category respectively. They were accompanied by national coach Mr Carlos Carbonel.

Athletics was represented by debutants Alessandra Pace and Andy Grech as well as leading athletes Martina and Francesca Xuereb. Mr Mark Farrugia accompanied the Athletics team.

Malta has participated in various editions of these games, the last of which was held in Lignano Sabbia d’Oro – Italy. On that occasion Maltese athletes took part in Athletics, Judo and Tennis.
