Brothers Accused of stealing generators

Two brothers were jailed for 14 months yesterday, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to stealing two generators and damaging one of them.

Philip D’Amato, 40, and Raymond D’Amato, 47, both from Zebbug, pleaded guilty to stealing the generators from Qormi, between Friday and Sunday.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke, who presided over the case, jailed the brothers for 14 months suspended for two years. She also ordered them to pay Lm500 in respect of the damage to one of the generators within six months.

Police Inspector Stephen Mallia prosecuted while Dr Joe Giglio and Dr Jose Herrera appeared for the accused.
