Heritage Malta will be putting up another major exhibition later this year when 12 paintings by Caravaggio will be brought from different places to be put on view in a spectacular exhibition at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta between the end of September and the end of November.

The majority of the paintings which will be brought over to Malta are attributed to Caravaggio. There are also a number of paintings which many world-renowned experts insist are the work of this artist who left a big impact on art.

The exhibition will be the highlight of the activities being organised by Heritage Malta to mark the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Michelangelo da Caravaggio to Malta between 1607 and 1608.

Dr Mario Tabone, Heritage Malta chairman, gave the information at an event which was held to officially close the Silent Warriors Exhibition, which has been open to the public since March and was visited by over 72,000 people.
