A man was yesterday charged with stealing a number of portable radios from a shop in Paola last week.
Brian Pace, 28, from Cospicua, pleaded not guilty to breaking in to Sound Machine in Paola and to stealing seven portable radios and two coffee makers on 25 July at around 1.45pm. He also pleaded not guilty to damaging the shop, handling stolen property, driving a car without a licence and insurance cover, relapsing and breaching the conditions of a previous release.
Presiding Magistrate Michael Mallia turned down a request for bail and the man was remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Jesmond Borg prosecuted while Dr Jason Azzopardi and Dr Kris Busietta appeared for the accused.
