The organisers of the Malta Music Festival have announced that Malta will be hosting a football game between past football legends from England and Italy together with a smattering of music stars. The band Simply Red will be wrapping up the event the next day.

The proceeds of the football match, followed by a gala dinner at the Malta Fairs and Conference Centre, will go towards a charitable cause. The match will take place on 1 November.

The game, with the likes of Les Ferdinand, Paul Gascoigne and David Platt for England and Toto Schillaci, Beppe Signori and Andrea Pazzagli for Italy will be played at Ta’ Qali Stadium.
