An irregular immigrant was yesterday conditionally discharged for two years after he pleaded guilty to selling door-to-door without a licence.

Before magistrate Antonio Mizzi, Aihaji Tunkara, 30, from Liberia, pleaded guilty to operating as a salesman without a licence issued by the Trade Department.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to send the tax return and declarations of his profits and to selling products which were not approved in terms of safety.

Police Inspector Kevin Borg prosecuted while Dr Gabrielle Buttigieg appeared for the accused.
