A 36-year-old man from Valletta was yesterday charged with possessing heroin which was found in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use.

Richard Borg was charged with possessing 11 sachets of heroin in Msida on Tuesday. He was also accused of relapsing.

Before magistrate Antonio Mizzi, the man pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was refused bail and remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted while Dr Gabrielle Buttigieg appeared for the accused.
