The Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) is preoccupied with the ferry service that Gozo Channel is offering for the transport of cargo from Sa Maison to Mgarr.

The chamber complained that the existing timetable issued by Gozo Channel states that there should be a trip between these two ports on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays excluding the eve of and public holidays.

Unfortunately, said the chamber, for some reasons the company is not adhering strictly to this schedule and various trips are being cancelled. After various representations that the chamber has made to Gozo Channel the situation has remained the same. This state of affairs is causing hardship to Gozitan businessmen who use this service for the transport of goods between the two islands.

Apart from this the heavy transport using the road leading to Cirkewwa causes traffic to slow down and adds to the air pollution problem. The chamber said it would like once again to strongly appeal to Gozo Channel and the minister concerned to come out with a definite solution to this problem once and for all.
