A father and son yesterday appeared in court to answer charges of threatening behaviour and assaulting people, including police officers in Hamrun.
Redent Ciantar, from Hamrun, pleaded guilty to assaulting and threatening people at the San Gejtanu Band Club and breaching the peace on Monday night. He was fined Lm220. His father, Michael, 46, pleaded guilty to assaulting and threatening police and disobeying their orders at the Hamrun police station later that evening. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera put him on probation for one year.
Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera appeared for the accused.
