A number of pregnant mothers were the first clients to benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities at Mater Dei Hospital as the new hospital started offering its first clinical services yesterday, the Foundation for Medical Services said yesterday.

The Parentcraft Department located within the Outpatients Department at Mater Dei Hospital received its first clients for a parentcraft session.

As from today, Clinical Psychologists will also start their services at Mater Dei Hospital.

The migration process from St Luke’s Hospital to Mater Dei is now well under way. The first phase of migration kicked off two weeks ago when around 100 administrative and managerial employees started reporting to work at Mater Dei instead of St Luke’s Hospital.

These Outpatients’ services, which started yesterday, form part of the second phase of migration which is expected to continue over the coming weeks until the whole Outpatients’ Department is transferred to Mater Dei.

So far, the migration process from St Luke’s Hospital to Mater Dei has been very smooth and is progressing according to plan.

Mater Dei Hospital will be fully functional by the end of the year. Other Outpatients’ services are expected to migrate during this month.
