Tickets for the Gigi d’Alessio performance which will be held tomorrow at Manoel Island are selling thick and fast. In fact the VIP tickets are almost sold out.

Gigi d’Alessio is currently on tour promoting his new album Made in Italy and was brought to Malta by MCK Promotions. During his Maltese concert he will be accompanied by his band. Maltese singer Ira Losco and her band will also perform on the night.

Born in Naples, Gigi d’Alessio showed great musicality at a tender age. When he was 12 years old, he enrolled in a pianoforte course at the renowned Neapolitan Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella which boasts of graduates of the calibre of conductor Riccardo Muti. He graduated at 21 years of age.

His dexterity on the keyboards and song writing abilities attracted the interest of famed Neapolitan singer Mario Merola who engaged him as a songwriter. This collaboration led to d’Alessio’s first performance on Italian national TV.

He took part at the Sanremo Festival three times (2000, 2001, 2005), however, he never won.
