Last week, 89.7 Bay visited St Joseph’s Home in Sta Venera to officially hand over a van that was purchased with money raised by Bay Kids last year in various events and incentives, including the 2006 BMA’s compilation CD featuring the exclusive Bay Kids songs It’ll Be Alright, and You pay – we play on 89.7 Bay, during which listeners donated cash in return for the playing of a song.

Bay’s March Madness also took all Bay DJs to Axis on one night and KU Club in Gozo the next night, generating more money for Bay Kids.

Following this, there was a special screening of Mr Bean’s Holiday in April at the Eden Cinemas and all the money raised also went to St Joseph’s Home in Sta Venera.

The events and initiatives raised enough money for a brand new Fiat Dublo. 89.7 Bay station manager Terry Farrugia said: “We are overjoyed at the success of Bay Kids. This has been by far the most rewarding experience, seeing all our efforts finally resulting in making people’s dreams come true.”
