An ambulance driver was charged yesterday with manufacturing pyrotechnic items without a licence in a farmhouse in Gharghur.
Silvano Azzopardi, 36, from Naxxar, pleaded not guilty to storing gunpowder, manufacturing the pyrotechnic items and storing them on 16 August.
Magistrate Silvio Meli granted the man bail against a
personal guarantee of Lm1,000.
Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia and Mario Haber prosecuted while Dr Michael Falzon appeared for the accused.
