Investment, Industry and IT Minister Austin Gatt yesterday rejected the resignation tendered by Water Services Corporation chairman Michael Falzon.
In a press release issued yesterday evening, the ministry said Mr Falzon had tendered his resignation after a letter was sent to him by Minister Gatt on 9 August regarding variations to a contract for the development of drainage purifiction plants.
Mr Falzon, an architect by profession, has served as WSC chairman for several years. He was elected as a PN member of parliament in a casual election in the 10th district in 1976 and was appointed Development of Infrastructure Minister in 1987, Environment Minister in 1992 and Education Minister in 1994.
