Labour MP Angelo Farrugia, described as a former Minister for Justice, a member of the European Commission on Human Rights and many times an observer in difficult elections, visited the Mayor of Modica Piero Torchi at Palazzo San Domenico last week.
The Labour MP, who was accompanied by representatives of Maltese institutions and his family, was full of praise for the town where he has bought a house.
He said he hopes his repeated presence would enhance the cultural links between Malta and Modica.
The mayor, replying, joined him in wishing an intensification of cultural links.
There have been long ongoing discussions with the University of Malta for such an intensification of relations. Another meeting has been set for September.
