The band Xtruppaw has just released a new anthem for the Malta national football team supporters. The song, Forza Malta (B’Ghajta Wahda), was specifically composed for South End Core, a recently-founded group of supporters for the national football team. The music was written by Xtruppaw, as well as most of the lyrics, with the exception of a few phrases suggested by Mario Camilleri.

The anthem was recorded at the end of July by Steve “Lombardo” Attard, and was released on 13 August.

The song is planned to be used for the first time during the forthcoming UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying football match between Malta and Turkey on 8 September at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali. The anthem is available for free in mp3 format, and can be downloaded from Xtruppaw’s website: www.
