As part of the Archives Awareness Week, the National Archives of Gozo are organising an exhibition featuring exclusive documents on the Gozo Citadel. Sponsored by HSBC Gozo Area, the exhibition displays a highly interesting array of plans of the Citadel fortifications, old photographs, and recent photos taken by Gozo-born photographer Daniel Cilia.

“As part of the Bank’s plan to play a significant role in the community life of Gozo, HSBC is supporting this unique exhibition that highlights the Citadel’s role as the main centre of activity since early times,” said Richard Mercieca, HSBC Gozo Area Director. “The present buildings and fortifications date to late medieval and early modern times, and the place is of great importance to Gozo, both as a heritage site and as a tourist attraction.”

The exhibition will run between 18 October and 3 November, at the Gozo National Archives.
